Album of the Year, SO FAR

Periodically I will be publishing a list of the best albums of the year so far according to the Prez. Here's the first installment. Warning: The Prez rejects the existence of country music...

1. Tool: 10,000 days- Dark and heavy with an epic quality. Not as quality as "AEnema", but everything that a music fan wants.
2.Neil Young: Living with War-An angry Young goes electric while saying everything most Americans only tell their friends and family.
3. Pearl Jam- Pearl Jam-Not the return to basics it was marketed as, but good stuff nonetheless.
4.The Reconteurs-Broken Boy Soldier-Jack White with a real band, it works...
5.Red Hot Chili Peppers- Stadium Arcadium-Two discs, somewhere in there is an excellent album.

Lets go Phil...The only pressure on him now...is winning for pudggy, waddleing men everywhere.....

Revolution on Hold...Its World Cup time baby......

One week into the World Cup 2006, the world can take a collective breath and examine the state of the game and the world. The American’s performance thus far has garnered pretty substantial media coverage, both good and bad. The “We Hate America Bowl”, played by Iran and Mexico was even one of the few games telecast on ABC. So far, the two best performances have been made by powerhouses Argentina and Spain. Brazil and the Netherlands also have won despite not getting the top performances from their elite stars. The host Germany looked dominant in game 1, but needed a spirited late charge to topple Poland.

Week One awards

Best Game:
Sweden vs. TnT: No goals, but TnT playing wonderful attacking soccer despite being a man down was everything the World Cup is about. Huge saves by Shaka Hislop made it great to watch.
Other getting consideration:
Germany v Poland (But I was rooting for the Poles)
Australia v Japan (Three goals in 10 minutes was great but Japan was lackluster the entire 93 minutes)
Ghana v Czech Republic (Huge upset helps keep the USA alive, but reverses our fortune if they bring it vs. the USA)

Best Goal
Tristen Frings Germany vs. Costa Rica : Upper 90 from 25 yards….Just sick
Other getting consideration:
Cristian Zacarrdo-The last guy who gave up an own goal to the USA in the World cup…well, he had very nice funeral in Columbia.
Arjen Robben-Netherlands vs. SnM-dynamic goal from a dynamic player…

Best Director Alive Today:
Guy's who i just don't miss...
1. Quinton Tarentino-As long as he’s breathing, and I haven’t made a film…
2. Wes Anderson-Needs to make more films, but his films are high art….
3. Ridley Scott-For Gladiator, and several other epics
4. Spike Lee-Last effort was real strong, and I like his recent smaller budget movies….
5. Ron Howard-King of the “Good Guy” epic….
6 Oliver Stone-Last movie was one of the worst ever made, but work from 1979-1995 is some of the most influential ever....with that said, in trouble of dropping off...

Others considered:
Speilberg-Last effort was good, but the taste of “War of the Worlds” lingers like
the smell of well...shit.
M Night Shymalan-Needs to make more films, but has one coming out in July...
Todd Philips-For Old School…
George Lucas-But whats next?
Scorcesie-For Goodfellas….
Coppalla-For The Godfather parts 1+2, Apacalypse Now, in my top 12 until he kicks it...
